With all the health care reform debate, has anyone in recent memory seen anywhere in the media, print radio TV etc, President Obama actually mention the words ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE? Has anyone heard in the popular media any senator or congressman actually mention the term ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE? Any sound bite? Any comment? Just one specific reference? I'm sure there is. I'm sure I just missed it. There must be some unprompted reference somewhere with all this health care debate on AD.
I generally watch the NBC news when I can. I know there was a blurb on World Alzheimer's Day. Mostly in terms of the cost. Dr. Nancy S. did mention Health Care Reform and that AD was the "budget-buster". Given the number of affected individuals it would seem like this is a relevant sub-text to the health care reform debate.

I have not heard a word about Alz. I am sure my mom would be on the death list if there was one. Oh how scary.....
I haven't heard Alzheimer's mentioned in the health care reform debates but there is legislation before congress that would get some much needed funding for Alzheimer's research. But the mainstream media doesn't seem to talk much about H.R. 3286 and S. 1492 the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
Alzheimer’s disease is caused due to the damage to brain cells. Person suffering from it, have trouble in consuming food, loss of control over passing urine, have trouble in understanding conversations, feels depressed. By following a healthy life style, eating right, maintaining optimal health, daily exercise, regulating blood pressure and cholesterol levels, mingling with others, can help prevent this disease.
Nothing will stop Alzheimer's Disease from happening, life style or not. Some people eat right, mingle with others, daily exercise and end up getting Alzheimers at 55. NOTHING WILL STOP THIS KILLER DISEASE>
